With the twin concept of the 'mvBlueGemini' smart camera and the 'mvImpact Configuration Studio' (mvImpact-CS for short), users without programming expertise and developers without image processing knowledge can implement complete inspection tasks visually, quickly and cost-effectively. This is made possible by the intuitive operating concept of mvImpact-CS, which guides users through the inspection creation process using wizards. The current release with the new 'Measure Tool' now also allows measurements to be carried out in inspection programs. The measure tool is also equipped with a wizard that highlights all lines and circles that it finds in the reference image. Users then select two elements to be measured. The wizard automatically recognizes whether these are radii, angles or distances and outputs the measured value. The supported measurement types are: Distance line-line, angle line-line, radius circle, distance line-circle (minimum distance), distance line-circle (line to circle center), distance circle-circle (minimum distance), distance circle-circle (circle to circle center) and distance circle-circle (circle center-circle center). Any number of measurements can be created for each measurement step, which the tool applies to the current image each time it is run. Tolerances can be specified for each measurement at which a test object is still accepted as good or bad.
