For 3D surface defects such as paint pimples, scratches, cracks, blowholes or similar surface deformations, the company uses its proprietary 'Sparc' technology, in which the surface is illuminated from four different sides. The 3D surface structure is reconstructed from the shading process. The underlying principle is called shape-from-shading. The 3D image acquisition is fully integrated into the 'Inspectpro' inspection software and therefore offers all the possibilities of scalable PC-based image processing software.
