Winner of the Achema Founder Award 2022 selected
The Achema Start-up Award took place again this year. This year's winners of the Start-up Award are Semodia, Pipe Predict and Lumax Biotech.
The winners impressed the judges with their solutions for "Plug and Produce" in modular systems, predictive maintenance in pipelines and the insulation of antibodies. The winners were announced on August 24, 2022 at Achema in Frankfurt.
The winners
Lumatix Biotech is working to increase the availability and affordability of antibodies by developing an effective isolation method based on a light-controlled affinity matrix. It is intended to replace the classical enrichment method using protein A chromatography.
PipePredict offers a predictive maintenance tool for reducing energy and media losses in pipe networks. Existing sensor data is analyzed using a digital twin and machine learning algorithms to prevent pipe bursts.
Semodia offers software solutions for the modular process industry that transfer the principle of Plug&Play of the printer driver in IT to Plug&Produce by means of Module Type Package to the modular process industry.
The start-up prize
In order to strengthen start-ups, DECHEMA, High-Tech Gründerfonds and Business Angels Frankfurt RheinMain, with the support of premium partner Clariant, announced the Achema Founder Award for the third time. The winners each receive 10,000 euros.
The three award winners are characterized not only by innovative ideas that can achieve a wide reach in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry and solve current challenges, but also by solid business plans that were put through their paces by the experts during the competition.
