Light+Building postponed

The Light+Building global trade fair in Frankfurt will not take place as planned from March 8 to 13. The organizer Messe Frankfurt announced that due to the current spread of the coronavirus in Europe, the decision was made to postpone the event after intensive consultations.

The cooperation partners of the international trade fair, ZVEI and ZVEH, support this approach. The postponement to September 2020 is planned.

"The unexpected occurrence of Covid-19 in Italy since last weekend required a new assessment of the situation in close coordination with the health department of the city of Frankfurt. A multi-stage health check of trade fair visitors from China is required, which Messe Frankfurt can only carry out with disproportionate effort. In addition, there are increasing travel restrictions that make it difficult for potential visitors and exhibitors to take part in the trade fair," reports Messe Frankfurt.

Light + Building is the most important international industry gathering for architects, industry, trade, retailers and planners. It is not yet clear whether the postponement will also affect the Luminale light art festival, which was planned to take place at the same time.
