Hannover Messe 2022
'Industrial transformation' as a guiding theme
Hannover Messe wants to provide clear impetus for more climate protection in business and industry with its guiding theme for 2022. From 30 May to 2 June 2022, digitalization and sustainability will therefore be the focus of the presence event.
"We are facing the biggest transformation since industrialization - towards resource-conserving, climate-neutral and sustainable production," said Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman and CEO of Deutsche Messe, at a virtual press conference. "Digitalization, automation, innovative technologies and renewable energy generation: These already existing trends are the dynamic drivers for achieving the climate targets. All fields of technology must interlock and initiate constructive discourse between business, politics, science and society." Hannover Messe 2022 will provide a platform for this exchange on site. Virtual presentation opportunities will be offered to complement the face-to-face event.
Under the guiding theme of 'Industrial Transformation', companies from the mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, logistics and energy industries, as well as from the software and IT sectors, will show how the transition to digitalized, resource-efficient and climate-neutral production can succeed.
Industries show solutions
For example, companies from the energy industry will be demonstrating how green hydrogen can be produced efficiently and what potential it offers for energy-intensive industrial manufacturing companies. Climate-neutral mobility is another focus of the energy industry.
Industrial companies offer technologies for reducingCO2 and show what contribution energy efficiency can make on the way to climate neutrality. Digitalization and automation are creating networked production facilities that produce more efficiently and conserve resources. Technologies such as 3D printing create custom-fit components and thus reduce inventories and the use of resources.
Global supply chains were very vulnerable during the coronavirus pandemic, so parts of the value chain could be brought back and help to reduceCO2. Energy is also one of the most important areas of action for logistics companies, especially as electrified products are accounting for an ever larger share of the forklift truck segment and are increasingly replacing combustion engines.
Digitalization is about topics such as networking, data analytics, the Internet of Things, platforms, artificial intelligence and cyber security. If you want to survive in global competition, you have to take advantage of the opportunities offered by digitalization to develop, manufacture and sell products faster and more efficiently.
Partner country Portugal
Portugal is the partner country of Hannover Messe 2022. Under the motto "Portugal Makes Sense", the country will present itself in the exhibition as well as in forums and seminars. The focus will be on industrial supply, digital platforms and energy solutions. There are many synergies and potential for new partnerships between Portugal and Germany in these areas.
