ZVEI establishes specialist department for switching power supplies
The members of the ZVEI Transformers & Power Supplies Association have founded the Switching Mode Power Supply specialist department in order to focus more on power supplies in the power range up to 3 kW.
Dr. Rolf Winter, who heads the ZVEI Transformers & Power Supplies Association, explained the establishment of the new specialist department: "Previously, power supplies of all power classes and UPS systems were combined in one specialist department. Today, special technological challenges in the area of standardization and regulations are becoming more and more differentiated, which is why we decided to establish this new specialist department." Winter added: "Electronic devices of all kinds require a stable and secure power supply. For a long time, transformers were used to provide this with as little loss and as little interference as possible. Switch-mode power supplies with customized solutions meet many of these requirements in a more compact and efficient way and are increasingly in demand."
Hermann Püthe, Managing Partner of Inpotron, is Chairman of the new specialist department. According to Püthe, it is necessary to meet the requirements of manufacturers and suppliers and to represent their interests to a greater extent. Among other things, Püthe will promote cooperation at European level.
