Creates space in the switch cabinet
Switch cabinets for the 24 V (DC) supply require a lot of space due to the components installed and the space required to cool the modules. E-T-A therefore offers a space-saving solution for power supply, overcurrent protection and power distribution.
According to the manufacturer, the 'Rex' system from E-T-A saves 60% of the space required in the control cabinet compared to conventional solutions, and can even eliminate the need for complete control cabinets in larger installations. The all-in-one solution has a modular design and includes power supply, overcurrent protection and power distribution. It is made up of various components that are easy to install and maintain and can be connected together with a simple click thanks to patented connection technology.
At the heart of the system are the switching power supplies from the 'Power4 Rex' series. They require up to 35% less space than comparable solutions. The switched-mode power supply units supply the 'ControlPlex' bus controller and the various single and dual-channel electronic circuit breakers with voltage. Potential modules take over the power distribution.
In addition to the switched-mode power supply units, power supply modules can also be used to supply the system with power. Further requirements can be implemented at any point using central power supply modules - from redundant power supply to the supply of several different potentials. Thanks to condition monitoring, the system also enables predictive maintenance to be implemented. Real-time processing of process and machine data for predictive maintenance increases machine availability. The system has a clear error detection function and also offers the option of remote diagnostics.
