Capgemini and Schneider Electric
Cooperation in the field of energy management
As the first result of their strategic cooperation in the field of energy management, Capgemini and Schneider Electric are presenting the 'Energy Command Center', a management platform for monitoring and controlling energy systems
Capgemini and Schneider Electric have formed a strategic partnership with the aim of simplifying companies' energy management and optimizing users' energy consumption. As a first result, the cooperation partners presented the Energy Command Center management platform. This is an integrated and centralized platform for monitoring, controlling and optimizing all energy-consuming systems in buildings, including data centers or rooms with critical environmental conditions. The platform combines artificial intelligence, machine learning and IoT technologies to measure and predict metrics such as energy intensity, the condition of critical assets, critical operations or the overall performance of all energy assets. The Energy Command Center uses real-time data on energy consumption andCO2 emissions in combination with modular and interoperable technologies for building management. This enables energy demand and costs to be reduced in order to achieve defined corporate goals and accelerate the path to a net-zero energy balance.
A prototype of the platform was first put to the test at cooperation partner Capgemini, whose eight main sites in India are responsible for around a quarter of the Capgemini Group's energy requirements. Since 2022, it has enabled efficient, cross-location monitoring and control of the energy supply in real time as well as the reduction and optimization of energy consumption via a central platform. This enabled energy requirements to be reduced by 29% in 2023 compared to 2019.
The tasks of the cooperation partners
Schneider Electric supports companies in this context with networked products, edge control applications and consulting services. Factories, offices and other infrastructure facilities can thus be controlled in a bundled manner and energy consumption across the entire company can be reduced via an integrated platform.
Capgemini is contributing its expertise in data integration and processing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, as well as the integration of all products and software into a centralized decision-making platform.
