Werma
Largest new construction project in the company's history
With a ground-breaking ceremony, Werma has given the official go-ahead for the next major factory expansion in the Dillgarten Ost industrial estate. The new building marks the most comprehensive investment in the Rietheim-Weilheim site to date.
"We are delighted to be launching this important project in the year of our 75th anniversary," emphasized Werma Managing Director Matthias Marquardt in his speech. "With this expansion, we are creating the basis for our planned growth beyond the year 2030."
The company had already increased its production area by 4,100 m² in 2016 with the 'Dillgarten West' expansion. Thanks to stable developments and a significant major order, the company has continued to grow since then and is now reaching the limits of its spatial capacity. The new building complex is being built opposite the current factory premises. A total of three construction phases are planned. The first of these is due to be completed by the beginning of 2027. With around 5,800 m² of floor space on three levels, the company is creating additional capacity for logistics and production. The investment sum for this first construction phase is around 20 million euros.
The new building offers maximum flexibility for technological requirements and future processes. "Flexibility, scalability and sustainability were the focus of our planning - as well as the separation of logistical and value-adding areas and a continuous, efficient material flow," explained Marquardt. The building will also be certified in accordance with the standards of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
