Stäubli Electrical Connectors is, among other things, a manufacturer of electrical photovoltaic connectors. With over 1 billion installed components in this segment, the company claims to be responsible for more than 150 GW, or 50%, of global PV output. Power-Blox, on the other hand, has developed a modular solar energy system called "Swarm Power" technology, which offers alternating current up to the megawatt range based on swarm technology. The innovative concept also enables a completely mobile supply and acts as a portable power socket, so to speak.

Swarm Power mimics complex systems found in nature to create fully autonomous and intelligent power grids anywhere in the world. Anyone can create an independent, decentralized power grid without any additional technical know-how. The 'plug-and-play' solution consists of self-sufficient energy cubes with an integrated battery that can be expanded as required, thus enabling a scalable power supply. Typical applications include powering mobile or temporary installations for aid organizations, rural electrification in remote areas, military installations or as a backup battery to bridge power outages in unstable public grids.

"Power-Blox's range of products and solutions fits very well into the strategic development of our 'Alternative Energies' business segment. Combined with our high-performance and durable connector solutions for photovoltaic systems, these systems and the swarm technology open up completely new fields of application in the growing market of energy storage systems," says Franco Delvecchio, CEO Stäubli Electrical Connectors and member of the Stäubli Group Executive Board, about this collaboration.
