Smart filterfans

Filterfans are the most commonly used solution for climate control. Rittal is now making this seemingly simple technology smart. The EC filterfans can be recorded via the Rittal IoT interface.

In addition to information on status, utilization, operating hours or energy consumption, there is also a temperature alarm. Temperature sensors can be attached to the most critical points and assigned to the correct filterfans via the IoT interface. If the temperature rises above an unplanned alarm threshold, the system operator is informed and the filter fan's emergency cooling function is activated. During automatic filter cleaning, the Rittal filter is lightly blown out several times a day to remove fine dust particles. This extends the service life of the pleated filters. Operators can also enter a virtual operating time to suit the respective environment. The system indicates when the next filter change is required depending on the running time and speed. This enables maintenance on demand instead of at fixed intervals.
