Reiku

Inka Krischke,

Recycle instead of new

Reiku shows that sustainability and industrial robots are not mutually exclusive with its corrugated cable protection conduits, which are made from 100% recycled polyamide 12. The manufacturer of cable protection systems relies on Agiplast as its development partner.

Agiplast is a pioneer in the regeneration of technical plastic compounds. Agiplast's halogen-free, self-extinguishing and non-flame-spreading reclaimed material 'RGN' is used for the new corrugated pipes with the type designation 'Parab'.

Managing Director David Guitton on the use of reclaimed material: "We did not take the decision to use reclaimed material for part of our production lightly. In extensive tests, our supplier Agiplast has proven that this material offers exactly the same mechanical short and long-term properties as our conventional materials." It goes without saying that Reiku ensures that the products made from the reclaimed material also meet the most demanding specifications in terms of fire protection and flexural fatigue strength. The company can therefore "guarantee the same warranty with a clear conscience as for the corresponding corrugated conduits made from virgin material".

Together with the corrugated cable protection conduits made of bio-based PA 11, which have been available for some time and, according to the supplier, even outperform conventional alternatives, especially under dynamic flexural fatigue stress, Reiku now offers customers two product families that both contribute to saving fossil raw materials. Peter Sailer, who shares the management of the company with Guitton, comments: "Environmental considerations do not stop at industrial applications. We recognized this trend early on and invested accordingly to underline our own commitment to sustainability and to support our customers - OEMs and users alike - in implementing their own environmental strategies. Customer applications in the sometimes extremely harsh industrial environment confirm that both our reclaimed corrugated tubes and those made from bio-based polyamide meet all expectations."

Overall, Reiku's product range extends from 7 mm to 95 mm nominal diameter for the entire application range from cobots to large industrial robots.
