Network socket for tough applications
R&M is launching a new generation of connection sockets for data transmission in harsh environments: The splash sockets with two RJ45 ports can withstand moisture, dust and temperatures from -25 to +80 °C and are resistant to petrol, oil, alkalis and salt water.
Physical network connections in industrial production facilities are among the first areas of application for R&M's splash outlets, which are permanently UV-resistant and meet the requirements of protection class IP54. Outdoor WLAN antennas and outdoor surveillance cameras can be connected to the LAN and Internet using the outlets. The boxes in the standard 87 mm × 87 mm format are available for flush-mounted and surface-mounted installations. A sealing ring under the front panel protects against the ingress of splash water, steam, mist, condensation and dust. Easy-grip caps are firmly attached to the housing and close the free ports. The RJ45 connection modules are automatically fixed in the all-round guide during installation.
