Inka Krischke,

Ex cable gland program expanded

The 'LevelEx' Ex d cable glands from Pflitsch offer a compact design, captive parts and a range of applications for Ex d, Ex e and Ex t equipment class II in the areas of gas and dust.

The cable gland consists of just four parts: The sealing elements are designed to be captive, meaning they cannot be lost during installation. When the pressure screw is tightened, the seal is deformed over a large area and achieves a high level of tightness with protection classes IP66 and IP68. According to Pflitsch, large wrench flats enable secure installation using standard tools. A defined deformation of the O-ring - positioned in a groove - ensures a secure seal between the cable gland and the housing when the double nipple is screwed on.
The cable gland is available in sizes M16 to M75 or with NPT threads from 3/8 inch to 2 ½ inch. The cable gland body is made of bare brass, galvanized nickel-plated brass and corrosion-free stainless steel. Cables from 7 to 66 mm can be reliably sealed. The temperature range is specified as -60 to +130 °C.
