Igus has expanded its range of hybrid cables with a cable especially for SEW motors with the 'Movilink DDI' interface. This gives users access to a cable specially developed for use with energy chains.
Hybrid cables for drive technology combine energy and data transmission in one cable, halving the number of cables required. In the case of SEW motors with the 'Movilink DDI' interface, the drive manufacturer uses a coaxial element to transmit the motor information. The challenge with cables with coaxial elements is that they quickly become susceptible to faults at high dynamics.
For the CF280.UL.H207.D hybrid cable, four power cores were combined with one coaxial core and two control pairs. The cable with a PUR outer jacket from Igus can be used for applications with a bending factor of up to 15 × d and is therefore suitable for various industries, from machine tools and material handling to the automotive industry.
