The absolute encoder from Hengstler has an installation depth of less than 20 mm and a housing diameter of 38 mm. By using the encoder, drive technology manufacturers can therefore design particularly slim motors. The encoder offers resolutions of 16 to 20 bits in the singleturn version and 12 bits in the multiturn version. Thanks to its bearingless design, the encoder can be used at speeds of up to 12,000 rpm without heating itself up. The operating temperature range of the encoder extends up to +120 °C. In terms of interfaces, the absolute encoder has a digital BiSS-C interface and an SSI interface. It is also equipped with an Electronic Data Sheet (EDS), in which motor and drive data are stored. The encoder can be installed in a short space of time using the EDS. A motor winding temperature sensor input is also available.
