No compressed air and fewer sensors
In-plant material transport systems reliably transport cases, parcels, storage containers and entire pallets via roller conveyors, divert them via diverters or sort the unit loads.
For this purpose, ebm-papst offers intelligent drives with integrated control electronics: The roller drive is installed directly in the feed rollers, while the compact diverter drive is located in the frame. This makes better use of the available space, as there are practically no interfering contours on the belt. This means that the belts can be positioned closer together, on top of each other or close to the floor. Since no compressed air lines need to be installed and no mechanical transmission elements such as toothed belts are required, installation is simplified. In addition, only one sensor is required to detect the position of the switch; if necessary, one and the same drive can move the switch in two directions.
The compact EC drives owe their 'intelligence' to the integrated 'K4' control electronics. Three main operating modes are possible: the motor operates either in speed, positioning or torque mode. The function of the drive can also be monitored during operation via monitoring functions such as voltage, current, speed or temperature. The control electronics can be integrated into various external rotor or internal rotor EC motors.
