At the 2019 Paris Air Show, Siemens and Rolls-Royce signed an agreement for the sale of Siemens' eAircraft unit, which develops electric and hybrid-electric aircraft engines.

The drive system for the 'CityAirbus' air cab, which the company has been working on together with Airbus since 2016, comes from Siemens. The core of the drive system is the newly developed 'SP200D motor'. Specially designed for this application, the 200 kW electric drive has a record-breaking power output.
