Beckhoff - Modules instead of control cabinets
According to the company, it is possible to replace the traditional control cabinet in many applications with the MX system. The starting point of the modular automation system is the so-called system baseplate made of aluminum. This can vary in size and contain up to three rows with a maximum of 24 plug connections (slots) each. The integrated module slots have Ethercat for communication and an integrated power supply with safety extra-low voltages and 400 V(AC) and 600 V(DC) . In the largest expansion stage, a connected load of 400 V(AC) and 63 A is possible. Function modules from the IPC, I/O, motion, relay and system areas are then plugged onto the system baseplate.
