Logiccloud - The PLC in the cloud
The company Logiccloud has dedicated itself to the approach of a virtualized PLC in the cloud. The aim of Logiccloud is to provide a highly scalable cloud platform for industrial controllers, the 'PLC from the cloud'. The concept is based on modern web technologies. These include: container technology with Kubernetes for the automated and arbitrary distribution of controller instances to various network nodes; JavaScript and C/C++ for backend programming; HTML5 and responsive design for the frontend portal; the implementation also uses various open source tools such as Keycloak for system security, Grafana and Prometheus for analytics, logging and metrics. All functionalities are implemented as microservices and can be flexibly expanded. The Logiccloud portal offers the creation of PLC projects and control programs in the IEC 61131-3 languages ST, LD, SFC and FBS as part of an integrated development environment (PLC IDE).Logiccloud ultimately reduces the number of hardware and software components used, which increases the availability of machines and systems as well as the service-friendliness of the entire control infrastructure of the applications. Logiccloud can also be easily integrated into existing infrastructures such as ERP, MES, SCADA or analytics via common standard interfaces.
