Euchner - Universal use for safety switches
Euchner is launching safety switches with 'FlexFunction' onto the market. This includes the compact CTS safety switch. The guard locking is particularly suitable for applications where a high locking force is required and only limited space is available. The dimensions of 135 mm × 31 mm × 31 mm combined with a maximum locking force of 3900 N enable universal use. Thanks to three different mounting orientations, the CTS can be used with swing or sliding doors. An escape release can be retrofitted.
The real innovation is not in the switch, but in the transponder-coded actuator. This determines the function of the switch. In other words, the function of the switch is determined by the selection of the appropriate actuator. Euchner calls this new patented concept "FlexFunction". This means that the customer activates exactly the functionality they need on their CTS device with the right actuator. The advantages: With the same basic device, the user can switch between process protection and personnel protection guard locking and select a high or low coding level, depending on requirements. When the actuator is first taught-in, the switch is configured and receives its function. If the requirement changes during the life cycle or the switch is installed at a different location, it is simply re-parameterized for its new task. All that is required is a new actuator.
