Carlo Gavazzi - Position monitoring of safety guards
Two new magnetic safety sensors have been added to the Carlo Gavazzi range. The MC36 and MC88 series devices are used together with the corresponding magnetic actuators to monitor the position of hinged, sliding or removable guards. They cover the temperature range from -25 to +80 °C and comply with protection class IP67 or IP69K for industrial environments. With a suitable safety module, they achieve up to SIL 4 and PL e in accordance with EN13849-1. The assured switch-on distance Sao of the MC36 safety magnetic sensors is 5 mm and the assured switch-off distance Sar is 15 mm. The MC88 series offers versions with three different permanent magnets especially for applications in which precise approach of the magnet is not possible and very large tolerances are required. With the strongest permanent magnet, the assured switch-on distance Sao is 18 mm and the assured switch-off distance Sar is 30 mm.
