According to the ZSW, electromobility is developing very dynamically in many countries. Especially in China: the country is the leader in terms of vehicle numbers and new registrations, with 2.6 million e-cars currently on the roads there. The 1.2 million new registrations practically doubled the number of vehicles. The USA is again in second place with 1.1 million e-cars. 361,310 new ones were added in 2018. In Norway, new registrations amounted to 86,340, while the number of vehicles on the road rose to 298,210. This corresponds to third place. However, every second new car there (51%) is now electric. According to the ZSW, this is the best in the world. By comparison, electric cars account for around 5% of new registrations in China and around 2% in the USA.
