Siemens patent applicationsInventors of the year 2016 have been announced
Siemens has now named ten particularly resourceful researchers "Inventors of the Year 2016". The scientists from Germany, Austria, the USA and Denmark are responsible for 558 registered inventions and 597 individual patents.

You don't necessarily have to start inventing as a child to be very successful later on. Benno Weis (47) from Siemens Digital Factory in Erlangen first developed his enthusiasm for power electronics during his studies and later in his career. He was honored as "Inventor of the Year 2016" in the "Lifetime Achievement" category for his numerous inventions - such as for the control of high-frequency milling machines.
