Compact motor-integrated drives

B&R is launching two compact motor-integrated drives onto the market. The devices in the Acoposmotor series cover a power range of up to 0.35 kW and measure 60 mm × 90 mm (W×H) in the smallest version. Despite the compact dimensions, a fully-fledged servo amplifier is integrated, which enables control loops with a minimum of 50 µs. The devices are also optionally available with an integrated gearbox attachment and integrated brake. The devices have two connections for hybrid cables, meaning that only one cable is required to the control cabinet, which ensures the power supply and transmission of the Powerlink data. Other devices in the series are connected via daisy-chain cabling. The 300° rotatable connections make installation easier. The Acoposmotor variants operate over a voltage range of 24 to 60 V(DC). Due to the low voltage, no special training is required when replacing devices. In addition, the braking energy can be fed back into the intermediate circuit. The drives have the STO safety function as standard. This is controlled via the hybrid cable; no special wiring is required. Three encoder variants are available: Multiturn, Multiturn with battery and Singleturn. Acoposmotor is designed for harsh environments. The device complies with protection class IP65. It has neither a fan nor a heat sink.
