Inka Krischke,

Servo controller with extended functions

Groschopp Drives & More has expanded the functionality of the 'RBD-S+' servo controller. With a second CAN interface, it now covers a wider range of applications and is therefore an alternative for applications where a classic PLC would be oversized.

The servo controller from Groschopp with an output of 800 V(AC) supports common feedback systems such as Hyperface, EnDat, Resolver and SinCos. It also includes an integrated positioning controller with extensive functions for jerk-free, time-optimized positioning and the control of simple handling systems. The addition of a second CAN interface allows the connection of up to 255 digital I/O modules. This allows the controller to perform a wide range of drive and control tasks independently - for example in punching presses, winding machines or presses. In many cases, a higher-level PLC can be dispensed with. This saves space in the control cabinet and reduces acquisition costs. In addition to the large number of digital inputs and outputs, additional modules for Ethercat and Profinet are also available. Flexibility is ensured by the customizable software architecture of the servo controller and the manufacturer's programming service, according to which the servo controller enables uncomplicated motor setup and is ready for use in just a few simple steps. In combination with a touch display and a visually appealing user interface, it offers a high level of operating convenience.
