Demcon takes over Systec

The Dutch technology developer Demcon has taken over the mechatronics specialist Systec from Münster. As a result, Systec founders Tilmann Wolter and Klaus-Gerd Schoeler are stepping down from the front row.

Systec is known for its Xemo motion control systems, the DriveSets ready-to-install positioning systems and, more recently, for industrial 3D printers under the brand name inv3nt.

Systec, which was founded 38 years ago, will in future operate as an independent Demcon division under the name Systec Industrial Systems GmbH. Demcon founder Denis Schipper will be the managing director, while Jan Leideman will be in charge of the Münster branch.

Demcon was founded in 1993 by Denis Schipper and Peter Rutgers as a high-end technology supplier of products and systems. The group of companies continues to focus on industrial systems, optomechatronic systems and medical devices. While the Dutch company primarily develops mechatronic application solutions on behalf of customers, Systec focuses more on standard products for medium performance ranges.

The contact between Demcon and Systec came about as part of the Interreg project "Smart Production" of the Netzwerk Oberfläche NRW e.V. Demcon is primarily involved in the development of a flexibly programmable thermoforming tool. Systec's task, in turn, is the mechanical engineering integration of 3D printing solutions for previously unprintable materials.

"Systec's expertise ideally complements Demcon's strengths. Thanks to its proximity to the university and the university of applied sciences as well as numerous research institutes, Münster is an excellent location for us," comments Managing Director Denis Schipper on the new company connection. Systec's extensive experience in mechanical engineering production offers promising development prospects for the entire Demcon Group.

Outgoing Systec shareholder Klaus-Gerd Schoeler will continue to take a leading role in control system development. Tilmann Wolter will be available to advise the new company management.
