It is not the age of mechanical and plant engineers that determines the level of their salaries, but their qualifications. This is one of the findings of the new '2016 Salary Study for Specialists and Managers', which has now been published by the VDMA.

... are paid in Baden-Württemberg (zip code area 7) - on average over 61,000 euros per year. This is closely followed by the Rhine-Main region and parts of Rhineland-Palatinate (zip code area 6) with an average of 59,000 euros and southern Bavaria (zip code area 8) with over 58,000 euros.
