Ultrasonic sensors with IO-Link expertise

The 'nano' ultrasonic sensors in an M12 housing from Microsonic are now equipped with a push-pull switching output. They have an IO-Link interface in version 1.1 and smart sensor profiles.

In addition to the measured distance values, the IO-Link interface also transmits identification, status and diagnostic values. Two scanning ranges of 250 mm and 350 mm are available. The ultrasonic sensors detect any type of object without contact, whether solid, liquid, powdery or transparent. With an overall length of just 55 mm including connector, this M12 ultrasonic sensor is currently the shortest on the market, according to Microsonic. The compact design of the sensor is advantageous in tight installation spaces. At the same time, the housing design is compatible with many inductive and capacitive sensors. This makes it easier to switch to ultrasonic sensors for critical applications.
