Student teams from all over Europe competed in the 'MCU Car Rally' on the third day of embedded world 2016. Their goal: to get through the course as quickly and error-free as possible. The means: their self-driving model vehicle with mechatronic equipment from Renesas Electronics.

120 electronics and mechatronics students from all over Europe used the 'MCU Car Rally' as a learning opportunity to develop a model vehicle based on sensors and RX controllers from Renesas Electronics. The hardware of all participants was more or less the same. The decisive factor was the students' software. Our picture gallery shows who did the best job of programming and tinkering:

"Our second MCU Car Rally was not only a special experience for the student teams, but also for us," says Andrea Nuyken, Project Manager of the mechatronics competition, looking back. "We were able to get to know an outstanding young generation who enthusiastically committed themselves to our project with extraordinary technical expertise."
