Tecsis offers a system solution certified in Germany for overload protection in crane systems. The "DGUV Test-, Prüf- und Zertifizierungsstelle Hebezeuge, Sicherheitskomponente und Maschinen" has certified the ELMS1 overload protection system, which consists of a central controller, up to four redundant force transducers and the corresponding software, in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13849 and DIN EN 62061 with PLd/SIL2. The 'ELMS1' central safety controller has safe analog and digital inputs and outputs, relay and semiconductor outputs, to which force transducers and other sensors can be connected, for example. For example, the redundant 'F53S8' force measuring axes are used here, which can record loads in all relevant measuring ranges. The force measuring axes have two channels per sensor and therefore allow redundant measurement. They have an integrated amplifier and can therefore be integrated into the crane even where space is limited. A maximum of four individual loads and the total load can be monitored with the overload protection. To do this, the control unit evaluates the signals from the load cells and prevents overload situations by intervening in the crane control system in good time. The controller can be integrated into a higher-level control architecture via the outputs or an optional fieldbus interface. Alternatively, the control unit supports CANopen, Profibus-DP or Profinet.
