ON Semiconductor announces a second image sensor with IT-EMCCD technology that allows sharp images to be taken even in unfavorable lighting conditions. Samples of the 8 megapixel sensor are already available.

... is visible in an image taken with an interline transfer CCD image sensor. The clipping is effectively compensated here and contrasts close to the light source are visible. However, the light sensitivity is not sufficient to display contrasts in the shadow area.
