No accidental changes to files

CodeMeter 6.80 from Wibu-Systems supports Universal Write Filter (UWF), a Windows option from Microsoft that prevents accidental changes to files, which is particularly important for embedded systems.

Previously, software developers had to add a custom extension (CodeMeter Runtime Extension) on the embedded system to permanently store signed and encrypted license files of 'CmActLicense'. Runtime 6.80 automatically recognizes systems equipped with the UWF function and stores CmActLicenses permanently. The tool also offers a console application for querying the status of licenses within a network, including current information on available and active licenses. This allows 'CodeMeter' to be easily integrated into customers' monitoring tools by regularly calling up this application and analyzing the reported data.
