One of the consequences of the targeted attack on Pilz is that the company's website is currently only partially functional. As a precautionary measure, the company has taken all computer systems offline and blocked access to the company network. In addition, the public prosecutor's office has been called in and the Federal Office for Information Security has been notified. As a parallel measure, the company has set up a crisis team to rectify the faults as quickly as possible and identify the origin of the attack. However, the disruption will continue for several days, according to Pilz.

The Pilz Group is a global supplier of products, systems and services for automation technology. The family-owned company, headquartered in Ostfildern, Germany, employs around 2,500 people and offers complete automation solutions comprising sensor, control and drive technology - including systems for industrial communication, diagnostics and visualization.
