Advantech has selected AI EdgeLabs as its primary platform for runtime security and governance in edge and industrial systems. The partnership is designed to help organizations protect distributed and critical infrastructure from cyber risks and meet regulatory requirements.

Edge and IoT operational technology environments in manufacturing, transportation, energy and other critical industries are increasingly connected, increasing the attack surface for cyberattacks. At the same time, European regulations such as the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and NIS2 require continuous risk management, runtime protection and verifiable security controls across the entire lifecycle of systems.

Advantech already utilizes IEC 62443 secure development and hardware practices, and with the integration of AI EdgeLabs' runtime and governance capabilities, compliance requirements can be implemented directly on edge and industrial platforms.

"With AI EdgeLabs as the primary runtime security solution, Advantech will integrate compliance-enabled security capabilities directly into select edge and industrial platforms. This will reduce the need for customers to integrate additional third-party security solutions to meet regulatory requirements. This is a strategic move for us," explains Alicja Strzemieczna, Sales Director Manufacturing and Infrastructure Sector at Advantech Europe.

Inna Ushakova, CEO of AI EdgeLabs, adds: "Regulations such as CRA and NIS2 require security controls that are continuously in operation and not just in the development or deployment phase. Working with Advantech allows us to integrate runtime security and compliance capabilities directly into industrial and edge platforms for critical environments."
