Omron
New robotics organization founded
Omron has announced the establishment of a global robotics organization effective April 1, 2025. It will operate in parallel with Omron's automation business so that both areas can complement and support each other.
According to the company, the robotics division will drive customer success through fast decision-making processes, optimal technical support and the expansion of technical expertise across Europe. This also includes Omron's 'Automation and Robotics Centers of Excellence' in Annecy, Barcelona and Dortmund, the new automation center in Stuttgart and an extensive network of proof-of-concept (PoC) centers that support local customers in the implementation of their projects.
The specialized European division employs a team of sales, application and service specialists. They will operate at both European and country level and work closely with Omron's global robotics organization. The new setup is designed to enhance solution- and industry-specific technical expertise and enable Omron to respond more quickly to changing customer requirements.
"Robotics plays a crucial role in our vision for the future of automation. The creation of the new robotics organization underpins our strong focus on building expertise, the quality of our services and helping our customers to remain competitive," explains Fernando Colás, CEO Omron Industrial Automation EMEA.
Vincent Nabat, General Manager at Omron Robotics EMEA, joins: "I am very excited about the launch of this new business unit, which will help our customers to get the most out of their robotics investments. With a dedicated European robotics organization, we can respond faster to local requirements, provide more direct access to technical expertise and work even more closely with our customers on joint development projects involving industrial robots and mobile robots."
The new robotics unit also strengthens links with Omron's global research, development and robotics teams, as well as the newly established European R&D team. This will accelerate innovation and the delivery of solutions tailored to the specific requirements of European customers.
