Strategic Cooperation between SEW-Eurodrive and Safelog
SEW-Eurodrive and Safelog announced a strategic partnership at Logimat to jointly develop and establish a powerful software system for controlling mobile and stationary processes in intralogistics.
As part of the collaboration, Safelog will take on the role of software house and will further develop its existing system in a targeted manner and in line with requirements. SEW-Eurodrive will continue to focus on the development of mobile and now also stationary robots as well as other automation solutions that can be connected to the software system in a modular manner and as productively as possible. In future, SEW-Eurodrive will be able to sell this as a stand-alone product, as a bundle with drive technology or as an integrated solution. Under the 'Maxolution' brand, the Bruchsal-based family business will also realize complete projects as a system integrator.
"The aim of the cooperation is to establish a software system on the market that sets new standards in the control of intralogistics processes - flexible, scalable and consistently geared towards the user's requirements," emphasizes Dr. Hans Krattenmacher, Managing Director Corporate Innovation Mechatronics at SEW-Eurodrive. Both partners can therefore concentrate on their strengths and benefit from a future-oriented, collaborative approach.
Michael Wolter, owner and Managing Director of Sfelog, is also convinced of the added value of the collaboration: "We are pooling our strengths and developing a state-of-the-art software system for the automation of the future. This means we can already offer customers perfect solutions for goods-to-person applications as well as for traditional logistics processes - with powerful mobile and stationary robotics."
The solution will not only be used by customers, but also gradually in SEW-Eurodrive's own plants in order to demonstrate its potential in real operation. "With this cooperation, we are taking a decisive step towards a software-defined factory that is based on powerful mobile and stationary robots and is fed from SEW-Eurodrive's MOVI-C modular automation system, regardless of the application," adds Dr. Hans Krattenmacher.
