With the 'KR Scara' models in the payload class with 20 kg and the soon to follow payload class with 60 kg, Kuka is expanding its product portfolio in the area of four-axis robots.

According to Kuka, the planetary gearbox of the KR 20's A1 axis provides increased rigidity and enables more stable operation. The three available reaches of the horizontal articulated arm robot of 800 mm, 1000 mm and 1200 mm offer flexibility for different application requirements. The 1200 mm reach in particular opens up new possibilities in work areas that could not previously be covered by robots from Kuka's Scara series. The KR 20 is available in standard, CR and IP54 versions for cleanroom applications.

The KR 60 (pictured) offers a reach of up to 1200 mm and a payload-to-weight ratio of 1:2 and was developed for handling bulky and heavy battery cells or for high-load palletizing tasks in other manufacturing industries.
