The robotics association IFR has published figures on service robotics: in 2017, sales of service robots for professional use rose by 39% to USD 6.6 billion. The total number of units sold grew by 85%. Logistics robots are in particularly high demand.

... logistics systems were installed: 69,000 - that is 162% more than in the previous year. Of these, 6,700 driverless transport systems were used in production environments and 62,200 were installed outside the manufacturing industry. The IFR estimates the turnover value of logistics systems at around 2.4 billion US dollars. This corresponds to an increase of 138% compared to 2016. According to the IFR forecast, the future of logistics systems also looks extremely bright.
