Omron
Focus on mobile robotics
Omron Robotics and Safety Technologies and Lowpad BV have entered into a strategic partnership to complement Omron's mobile robots with Lowpad's flat solutions.
Users of Omron 's autonomous mobile robotics (AMR) include numerous industrial customers with payload requirements ranging from 60 to 1,500 kg. Lowpad offers low-profile mobile robotics for retail and logistics. The company's solutions include profiles between 80 and 130 mm with integrated lift so that they can handle racks, trollies and pallets, which can be used to automate manual transportation processes in various industries. Lowpad claims to be the lowest autonomous mobile robot on the market with a minimum height of just 13 cm.
As part of the strategic partnership, Omron will market and sell customized versions of the Lowpad robots through its global distribution network under the Omron brand. Lowpad's products will be integrated into Omron's 'Flow Core' software, which enables autonomous operation and control of fleets of up to 100 mobile robots from a single point.
Omron AMRs are widely used for the transportation of parts and products in sectors such as e-mobility, digital technology, food and consumer goods and medical technology. Lowpad has a strong presence in the warehousing and logistics industry, where the low profile AMRs are particularly suitable for transporting roll cages, picking trolleys, pallets and trollies. Companies are also increasingly facing such requirements in production automation: The predicted growth rate (CAGR) for low-profile robots is around 60% by 2025.
