Delta robot
Equipped with modern servo drives
In collaboration with Codian Robotics, Mitsubishi Electric has expanded the 'Melfa' range of compact scara and articulated robots to include delta robots. The servo-motion technology from Mitsubishi Electric enables precise and fast movements.
The models can be operated and programmed using the intuitive robot programming software. Codian Robotics uses materials such as carbon fiber, titanium, anodized aluminum, 316 stainless steel and plastic in the construction of the Delta robots. Equipped with modern servo drives, the robots are particularly suitable for typical 3-axis top-loading packaging systems and push-fit assembly. In addition, the two companies have developed a special waterproof model that is made of appropriate hygienically approved materials and can be used in environments that require frequent cleaning, such as the food and beverage industry, the cosmetics industry or the pharmaceutical sector. The overhead pick-and-place robots complement Mitsubishi's articulated arm robot series. The high-speed pick & place solution can be seamlessly connected to a PLC from the supplier. The connection can be made directly via the robot controller or the motion solution. The modular robot controllers also extend the concept: they can be used as a standalone unit or mounted on the backplane bus of an 'iQ Platform' controller. The Delta robots can be programmed and connected to other robots and systems using the 'RT ToolBox2' robot programming software. Using the same programming language, existing programs from the Scara or articulated arm robots can be adopted and exchanged.
