Automatica 2025
Peak Visitor Numbers
From June 24 to 27, Automatica 2025 in Munich demonstrated the solutions that intelligent automation and robotics offer for the challenges of the future. A total of around 47,500 visitors from more than 90 nations gathered information from around 800 exhibitors from 40 countries.
The four days of the trade fair focused on AI-supported robotics, SME automation, healthtech solutions, mobile robotics and networked production. In the view of Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, Co-CEO Messe München, a successful mix of topics. "Automatica is once again a driving force for the entire industry. The trade fair has grown significantly in terms of visitors and exhibitors despite the economic headwind. This shows that it is the industry's must-attend event." During his tour of Automatica and the parallel Laser World of Photonics and World of Quantum trade fairs, Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger emphasized the central importance of these future technologies. "Robotics and automation will revolutionize our production processes. The integration of artificial intelligence in particular opens up completely new possibilities." Exhibition Director Anja Schneider is also enthusiastic: "With 800 exhibitors and no less than 1,120 robots on site, Automatica is an incredibly impressive showcase across the entire value chain. What I am particularly pleased about is its distinct character as a working trade fair."
Patrick Schwarzkopf, Managing Director of VDMA Robotics + Automation, also gave a positive assessment of the trade fair. "Automatica 2025 has shown that robotics and automation are the key to strong competitiveness. With practical AI solutions, automation for SMEs and networked production, it has impressively confirmed its claim to global leadership: It is the place where world firsts and the future of automation premiere."
Exhibitors are satisfied
The exhibitors draw a positive conclusion from all areas. "Automatica is one of the most important events not only for Fanuc, but for the entire robotics industry in Europe," says Takayuki Ito, President of the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) and previously Vice President at Fanuc. "It brings together the world's leading technology companies and users to exchange ideas, discover innovations and drive the future of automation. As President of the IFR, I greatly value this platform for international dialog and collaboration."
Reinhold Groß, CEO of Kuka's robotics division, also drew a positive conclusion. "This year, we are experiencing remarkable interest from customers who have not yet automated. Automatica 2025 was therefore the ideal stage for us to show that 'making automation easier' goes far beyond simple and intuitive access to robotics." Martin Bender, Managing Director of Bender+Wirth, also sees the fact that more and more medium-sized companies are automating from the user's perspective. "I appreciate the professional exchange with the exhibitors and feel that I am absolutely in the right place at Automatica as a representative of an SME," says Bender. "The trade fair inspires and motivates me to try out new things and move forward with automation."
