The Pepperl+Fuchs brand ecom is launching the next generation of the "Tab-Ex" tablet series designed for the Ex area. The Tab-Ex 02 industrial tablet is suitable for Industry 4.0-capable applications, for example, and simplifies data exchange with SCADA/DCS systems, enterprise resource planning systems (SAP, IBM Maximo), project management systems and computer-aided system planning. The tablet based on the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active2 with Android 7.1 Nougat operating system has an octa-core processor with 1.6 GHz and 3 GB of RAM. The tablet's improved hardware makes it possible, for example, to use augmented reality applications to identify objects in a system and deliver all the underlying, available data directly to the user's field of vision in real time and share it in the company network. The tablet is part of ecom's interlinked, explosion-proof mobile worker concept, which includes smartphones, tablets, peripheral devices and software applications.
