Endress+Hauser
Important supplier acquired
Endress+Hauser intends to take over the operations of the Swiss supplier Angenstein Estech, including the production plant in Cernay, France, Estech Industries Angenstein, succursale de Cernay.
For over 25 years, Angenstein Estech and its French subsidiary have been the key supplier of measuring tubes for Endress+Hauser flowmeters. The Cernay plant is already home to around 50 employees. "The takeover of Angenstein Estech AG will enable us to retain the expertise of our employees and integrate important work steps even more deeply into our production processes," says Christophe Stoos, Managing Director of the Endress+Hauser Flow France plant in Cernay.
The owner families Wiese and Helfenstein see the sale of Angenstein Estech as the ideal succession plan for their company. "Our priority was to preserve jobs and secure the future of the company. The takeover by Endress+Hauser therefore represents the best possible solution in our eyes," explains Martin Helfenstein, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Angenstein Estech.
Based on the letter of intent, both parties intend to draw up and sign a purchase agreement by the end of September. The transfer of operations is to take effect on January 1, 2025. The main plant in Aesch, Switzerland, which also supplies the Endress+Hauser flowmeter plant in Reinach, is not affected by the takeover. It will remain part of the Estech Group as Estech Industries Angenstein.
Endress+Hauser has been manufacturing flow measurement technology in Cernay for over 30 years. The site, which has been repeatedly expanded over the years, employs more than 500 people and primarily supplies the European market with electromagnetic flowmeters as well as ultrasonic and vortex meter instruments. In 2026, the French sales department, which is currently based in Huningue, will also move into a new building on the company campus in Cernay.
