Handy wiring and PoE++ tester
Softing IT Networks launches the 'CableMaster PoE', a handy wiring tester with integrated length measurement and tone generator. It also performs PoE (Power over Ethernet) tests up to class 8 and 90W (PoE++).
The wiring tester automatically detects PoE up to Class 8 and briefly applies power to the port to test the actual PoE power supply. With a 3.5-inch color screen and a graphical user interface, the device provides easy-to-understand test results in real time, enabling efficient and precise network diagnostics, according to Softing. Areas of application include testing the installation cabling before final acceptance with a qualifier or certifier, a wiring test of Ethernet cables for breaks, short circuits, swapped wires and split pairs at the touch of a button, as well as the localization of ports using a tone generator and optionally available cable finder. The wiring tester can also be used to carry out diagnostics on RJ45 ports that provide PoE up to 90 W, including detecting the PoE class and applying a load to the ports to be tested. The device is also suitable for troubleshooting installations that use PoE.
