Schneider Electric takes over Proleit
Schneider Electric is expanding its portfolio by acquiring the software manufacturer Proleit, thus reinforcing its strategic focus on software-supported automation.
Following approval by the antitrust authorities, Schneider Electric acquired the software manufacturer Proleit on August 3, 2020. Headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Proleit operates at ten international locations with over 500 employees worldwide. With this acquisition, Schneider is gaining a company whose solutions and industry expertise will enable further market penetration, particularly in the consumer goods (CPG) and food & beverage (F&B) sectors. With its own system architecture 'EcoStruxure', in which the Aveva software is already firmly anchored and which is further strengthened by the Proleit portfolio, Schneider Electric, itself active in over 100 countries worldwide, is driving forward the digital transformation in industrial automation.
Among other things, Proleit has developed the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Process Control Systems (PCS) 'Plant iT' and 'brewmaxx'. "We are delighted to become part of Schneider Electric with our team of experts," says Wolfgang Ebster, CEO of Proleit. The solutions specifically address F&B industries such as breweries or dairies and will strengthen the software level of Schneider Electric's 'EcoStruxure' architecture, which is also available to Proleit's existing customers.
