Kontron presents the embedded server Zinc Cube SKD, which was developed as a platform for industrial applications, machine learning and artificial intelligence. It is based on Intel XEON D-2100 processors (12C 75 W / 8C 65 W / 4C 60 W) with four to twelve CPU cores; its eight DIMM sockets support up to 256 GByte ECC memory. The server is also equipped with eight 2.5-inch SATA SSD/HDD removable drives and an internal M.2 2280 drive, each with possible RAID functionalities. The interfaces include two USB 3.0 ports on the front and two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports on the rear. The four 10 Gigabit SFP+ LAN Ethernet interfaces ensure high data throughput. System expansions can be implemented via one PCIe x16 (double wide) and two PCIe x8 expansion slots. The server is certified for Windows 10, Windows Server and Linux Server.
