Since July 2021, the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Ruhr-OWL has been supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the digitalization of products, production methods and processes as well as the development of digital business models. The free services include lab tours, potential analyses, qualification offers, transfer projects, digital strategies and industry circles. In this way, SMEs can use both scientific findings and experience from other companies to strengthen their competitiveness. The SME Digital Center is being funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy with 5.9 million euros until June 2024. The project partners are Fraunhofer IML, Fraunhofer IEM, Fraunhofer IOSB-INA, Digital Hub Management GmbH and OstWestfalenLippe GmbH.
