Automation trade fair
SPS IPC Drives' for the last time!
SPS IPC Drives will be held for the last time from November 27 to 29. The reason: To mark the 30th anniversary of the Nuremberg automation technology trade fair in 2019, organizer Mesago is changing the name of the trade fair.
For 29 editions, the name of the trade fair has been made up of the three main topics SPS (programmable logic controllers), IPC (industrial PCs) and Drives (electric drives). However, in addition to these three original components, the trade fair now covers a much broader spectrum of solutions for future-oriented automation, according to organizer Mesago Messe Frankfurt. The technical progress of recent years and the digital transformation of the industry have also been reflected at the trade fair for some time now.
To reflect this development, the trade fair will have a new name from 2019: SPS - smart production solutions. "We have thought about this intensively and, together with our exhibitor advisory board, have come to the conclusion that this step is right and necessary. Nothing will change in terms of the proven concept and content. The focus will continue to be on practical solutions and a professional exchange at eye level," explains Sylke Schulz-Metzner, Division Manager at Mesago Messe Frankfurt for SPS IPC Drives.
