German Trade Fair
New digital department established
Deutsche Messe is bundling all digital activities and projects within the company into a new division. The Supervisory Board has approved the establishment of the new 'Digital Business & Transformation' division.
Michael Mollath (45) will head up the new division. Mollath previously held the position of Chief Digital Officer at the company. The new 'Digital Business & Transformation' division will develop digital, data-based products and services for exhibitors and visitors and design new business models. "Over the next few years, we will transform our company into an international provider of events and data services," says Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of Deutsche Messe AG.
As part of the further development, the trade fair organizer has reorganized the Management Board departments: Köckler will be responsible for the trade fairs in the 'Industry', 'Energy' and 'Logistics' areas of expertise as well as the new 'Digital Business & Transformation' division from September 1, 2017. Köckler is also responsible for personnel and guest trade fairs. Oliver Frese's Management Board portfolio includes the 'ICT & Digital Business-Events' area of expertise as well as the 'Technology' and 'Services' divisions and the company subsidiaries Messe Gastronomie, Spring Messe Management and Fachausstellungen Heckmann. Board member Dr. Andreas Gruchow is responsible for all of Deutsche Messe's international structures and will be in charge of the 'Floor Coverings' and 'Woodworking' areas of expertise as well as the 'Global Fairs & New Formats & Global Sales', 'International Subsidiaries & M&A' and 'Finance & Legal' divisions.
